Dubai extends ambitions to global aerospace industry

迪拜计划向航空制造业和航空服务业引资150亿美元，旨在让这个海湾酋长国在10年内成为全球航空领域的一个主要参与者。

Dubai plans to channel $15bn into aerospace manufacturing and aviation services, aiming to make the Gulf emirate a leading player in the global aerospace sector within a decade.

阿联酋政府昨天宣布成立控股公司迪拜航空企业（Dubai Aerospace Enterprise，简称DAE），旗下包括6家运营子公司。

The emirate’s government yesterday announced the formation of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise as a holding company with six operating subsidiaries.

DAE的业务范围将包括国际机场发展、飞机租赁及融资、专业航空航天教育和培训、飞机维护、维修和翻修、零部件及发动机制造，以及飞机组装及最后完工等。

DAE will work in areas ranging from international airport development and aircraft leasing and financing to specialist aerospace education and training, aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul, components and engine manufacturing, and assembly and aircraft final completion.

这些计划是表明迪拜政府全球雄心的最新举措，其出台正值迪拜港口世界（Dubai Ports World）寻求完成对铁行港口（P&O）39亿英镑（合67亿美元）的收购。铁行港口是一家总部位于英国的港口运营商，此次收购将使迪拜港口世界成为全球领先的港口集团之一。

The plans are the latest sign of Dubai’s global ambitions, coming as Dubai Ports World seeks to complete its £3.9bn （$6.7bn） takeover of P&O, the UK-based ports operator, to make it one of the world’s leading ports groups.

DAE董事长一职将由阿联酋航空集团董事长艾哈迈德•本•赛义德•马克图姆酋长（Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum）担任，他也是迪拜民航部部长。

DAE will be chaired by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the Emirates airline group and president of the Dubai department of civil aviation.

他说，在该集团加大努力以“成为全球航空产业中一支重要力量”的同时，将与一些全球领先的航空集团结成战略联盟。据悉，迪拜已与波音（Boeing）、空客（Airbus）和通用电气（General Electric）进行了初步接触。

He said the group would form strategic alliances with some of the world’s leading aerospace groups as it stepped up its bid “to become a significant presence in the global industry”. Dubai is understood to have made initial contacts with Boeing, Airbus and General Electric.

“We are putting down a marker for the future,” said Sheikh Ahmed. “DAE signals our clear intention to become one of the driving forces of the global economy and reflects confidence in our ability to achieve this.”

通过发展迪拜国际机场，并把阿联酋航空集团快速扩张成世界领先的长程航空公司之一，已使这个酋长国在航空领域占有了一席之地，而迪拜进军航空航天产业的鸿图壮志将以此为基础。

Dubai’s ambitious foray into the aerospace industry will build on the presence the emirate has established in the aviation sector through the development of Dubai international airport and the rapid expansion of Emirates into one of the world’s leading long-haul airlines.

迪拜也在建造另一个工程项目：在杰贝阿里兴建全球最大的机场，该机场计划最终拥有6条平行跑道，每年的旅客流量将逾1.2亿人次。

Dubai is also working on a project to build the world’s biggest airport at Jebel Ali, one that is eventually planned to have six parallel runways, with the capacity to handle more than 120m passengers a year.
